고시원 !!! useful

Have you ever hear about it (고시원 ,readas, Goshiwon)

Its places in Korea where you can rent a room for a time, i think its very useful and helpful for people who are visiting Korea and don't have a place to stay.

I came across this term when I was moving to Seoul to work there and there was no place to stay, and renting a house was impossible since the prices are high or i cant afford it.

Anyway I would like to share this with you, I hope it can help you some day.

The first way i tried to find 고시원 was i just google it (writting "고시원 in Seoul") , the result was good but limited.

I tried again to google the phrase "고시원 + place name" for example i was looking for a 고시원 in neighborhood called "이태원" (Iteawon). this time the result was better, and I cam across a web site i think its very helpful.

this website you can search for the 고시원 with some specifications. for example near to some place....

This is an English translation for the arabic note about Emmanual Jal, a couple of my friends - who can't read arabic - asks me about that note, so I decided to translate it to English.

A lot of the Sudanese don't know that the most famous worldwide Sudanese artist is Emmanual Jal.

This young man was born in place called Leer in southern Sudan....
He was a child soldier in the Sudanese People's Liberation Army (SPLA).....

Emmanual Jal was among the audiences and participants in the 90th birthday of the freedom fighter Nilson Mandela.

Emma Mccune's Story:
When she was 23, Emma Mccune ,the young and ambition lady, left the life of luxury and welfare and went to southern Sudan to work as a volunteer teacher.
She was so touched and influenced by her experience in Sudan , Emma return to souther Sudan again in 1989 to work in a relief and child support organization for children's education in souther Sudan.
With her courage and ambition to finish what she had started ... Emma helped in establishing more than 100 village in souther Sudan before she died in an early age "29".

Emma said once "I am a Sudanese from the bottom of my heart".

She met Jal among 11 survivor from a group composed from more than 400 child soldier, filled with fear and desperation, who spend a 3 months tough journey across the Sudan trying to escape horror of civil war.
At that moment, Emma rescued Emmanual, hiding him in the cargo hold of the aircraft aid flight to Kenya.
For Emmanual, Emma was the angle sent by God to save him from the painful reality of life and suffering of war, starvation and death.

Her Story is a proof that hope can be found even in the middle of the desert and in the darkness, when all the hopes and dreams evaporate. you can look in the eyes of someone in need and help..... be that person.

It has been 355 days in November 30,2009.

355 days !!!!! this indicates a great will and strength that deserves respects.

Until now 116,500 $ has been raised for building the school ...... and I hope we can complete the required amount for building the school soon.

قصة إيما ماكيون...قصة مؤثرة جداً...

عند بلوغها الثالثة والعشرين من العمر، غادرت إيما ماكيون، الشابة الطموحة، حياة الراحة والرفاهية الغربية وذهبت الى جنوب السودان المشتعل بالحرب لتعمل كمعلمة متطوعة هناك.

ولتأثرها بتجربتها بشدّة، رجعت إيما الى السودان عام 1989 لتعمل في منظمة إغاثية وداعمة لتعليم الأطفال في السودان.

بشجاعتها وحماستها لإكمال ما بدأته ، ساهمت إيما في إقامة أكثر من 100 قرية في جنوب السودان قبل وفاتها المأساوية في سن مبكرة عند سن التاسعة والعشرين. نقل عنها قولها ذات مرة : "من صميم قلبي ، أنا سودانية".

عرفت إيما ايمانويل جال كواحد من 11 من الناجين من مجموعة تتكون من ما يزيد على 400 طفل مقاتل ، يملاءهم الخوف واليأس ، قضوا رحلة شاقة خلال ثلاثة أشهر عبر السودان يحاولون الفرار من أهوال الحرب الأهلية.

في تلك اللحظة الفارغة من الأمل والميئوس منها قامت ايما بانقاذ ايمانويل ، مخبئة أياه في عنبر الشحن لطائرة المساعدات المتجهة إلى كينيا. بالنسبة لإيمانويل ، ايما هي الملاك الذي أرسله الله لإنقاذه من واقع الحياة المؤلم والمعاناة من الحرب والمجاعة والموت.

قصتها هي دليل على أن الأمل وسط الصحراء وفي الظلام الحالك ، عندما تتبخر كل الأحلام وسط الواقع المر ، ويستحضر الأمل أنفاسه الأخيرة ، يمكنك أن تنظر في عيني شخص ما محتاج ، كن ذلك الشخص

I am setting on my bed in my room.
I was chatting with Sara , one of my childhood friends, speaking about life ,our lives and whats going on with us.
I realized somethings during our talk, why I feel like this now , not like before , all what I cared about was small things , childish stuff , like playing football, or do a Honga Barara on Mozafar's face to get back at him because he did it to me earlier. I was happy and innocent.
But suddenly all of this changed, my buddies are away , everyone is busy with life trying to survive, Ahmed in USA , Mozafar in Holland and get married !!!!! Amjad went to Malysia , Sara in Sudan , the rest of guys in Egypt and me in Korea.
Life has lost its flavor and show me the other face(Arabic translation), my thoughts started to change , my cares and the things make me happy.
well, Life didn't change , it didn't become more tough or boring , simply as Sara said to me
"Khalid i think we're growing up ".
really we are , and I miss the old days so much
I miss going to Abo Ala's Market and drink Pepsi with Lox biscuit with Bushra , I miss going and staying at Mozafa's home and play FIFA. i miss going to the children park with Amin Ahmed Amjad Ehab and Ehab (two heads) Yassir Hussam Bushra and Mozafar.
I miss having nothing to do on the EID, and just stay around al kolya al harbya :)
I miss being a child.

1- I love my family the most.

2- I never say to my father that I love him, eventhough he is my idole in life.

3- I think i am a little bit crazy some times.

4- I am lazy and somewhat spoiled.

5- On of my dreams is to take a tour around the world.

6- Sometime i dont beleive in god, but I am afraid if he exists.

7- I hate policy because of my childhood memories.

8- I like kids so much , i want to have twins girls and two boys.

9- I felt I let my family down after high school.

10 - I dont like to live in big city, I wanna live in the rural.

11- Music is my life specially reggae music.

12- I don't know how to express my thoughts and emotions.

13- I depend on my intelligence , this is why I don't study so hard. :)

14- I am from Sudan, but some time I feel I don't belong their.

15- I can keep silent for a long time and don't feel bored, just give me an mp3.

16- I want to do something to help the children but I don't know what can I do.

17- I always on time and I hate it when people don't.

18- I fear high places, and I can't take it if somebody touch me in my neck (told you !crazy hehe).

Oh, Two days ago I went to play football with my lab members, and I put all be things (wallet,Cellphone and Keys) near the playground. After we finish playing I found that my wallet is not there, I was really so sad because all my personal documents are there, My student card my social security number and my bank accounts card. all GONE.

This is the second time I loose a wallet in my life, the first time was in Egypt but that time I was not so sad like this now, because now I have to issue new documents , and its so much booooooooring process. Now I am like the first time I came to Korea and I have to make it all from the beginingh AGAIN.

Tell now I didnt do anyting, because till this moments I still have a hope that I will find it.

I never though that someone would stell it and tell now I dont belive it.

New Trend (Summary of the last period)

I started some new trends this days as I called it ,,,,

This days I started to wonder if really I can make some money from the internet or no.

I've reading articles and books about people who made a lot of money from the interent , actually I dont beleive it all but also its posible.

I dont know why I started to think about this now, I never think about making money using the internet before, but now I started to like the Idea.

So I constructed a website for my "Making Money" -Quoted from someone but I cant say who :)- and I hope one day after a long time I achive something from it.

Also on another topic , I've been creating a website -and then dropping it- for a sudanese football for a long time now , I always wanted to make a website for about the sudanese football league but I always get disappointed and people laugh at - such as meno who i told him 2 days ago I created a new one and then he laughed and says ..... - , but Finally I decided to just Ignore'em :) and continue what I wanted to do. But with a little modification to the original idiea , instead of developing a web site I created a new Fourm I called it Dafory and who knows maybe one day I will be the one laughing.

لم اكن قد تجاوزت البضعة اعوام ، و كنا ذاهبين لزيارة أبى عند احد الاسر السودانية، فى تلك الفترة ابى كان مختفى - زى ما بيقولو - لم يعلم احد انة موجود فى السودان و كان الجميع يعتقد انة فى احد الدول الاوربية
ابى - و اسمة الشفيع - كان يدعى "على" فى تلك الفترة ، الموضوع دة كان محير بالنسبة لى و لاخى الصغير لانة لما يكون فى ناس بناديهو على و لما يكون مافى ناس بناديهو الشفيع.- ودة كان نادر لعدم تواجدة معنا
زى ما قلتا كنا ماشين لزيارة على عند احد الاسر السوادنية ، و بعد ما وصلنا قعدنا مع بعض ابوى على و امى و اختى و اخى و باقى اعضاء الاسرة المضيفة، و كنا نتجاذب اطراف الحديث و الدردشة، انا وبشرى كنا بنادى ابوى الشفيع ، و فى اثناء الكلام اردت ان انادى على ابى فقلت لة يا الش.. يا الشيخ على ..................... وواصلت الكلام

، ابوى سياسى وبعد خروجة من المعتقل بفترة و جيزة واصل العمل السياسى مختفيا ودى كانت فترة ايام الاختفاء زى ما احنا بناديها

عايز تبيئ

فى مرة من المرات ، جاء ابى لزيارتنا فى المنزل و بينما كنا نتحدث و نتسامر ، كان احد الجيران ( الشمارم عالى) قد رائ شخص يدخل لمنزلنا. فجاء الى منزلنا و اخذ يطرق على الباب
فى تلك اللحظة اختيئنا انا و ابى فى احد الغرف بالمنزل " لم يكن هنالك اى داعى لاختبائى مع ابى ولكنى كنت طفل مدلل " و بعدها ناس البيت فتحو الباب و دخل الجار يتلفت يمين و شمال يفتش عن الزول الدخل البيت وينة
قال لامى " انا جيت اشرب معاكم شاى المغربية" امى ردت و قال ليهو مرحب بيك، دخل البيت و جلس فى الصالة و لسة كان بيتلفت يمين و شمال و يسأل " انت براكم ولا شنو" و كان مستغرب الزول الشفتو داخل هنا دة مشى وين
و سال عنى " و خالد وين " ردت امى و قالت له "نايم جوة
وبينما كانو يتونسو " الونسة الكلها اسئلة و استفسارات" قام اخى الصغير بالبكاء واخذ يقول " عايز تبيئ" و كان يقصد ابى شفيع ولكنة كان صغير لسة على الكلام ـ لكن اسى حاجة تانية
اتوتروا ناس البيت و امى بسرعة قالت ليهو " عايز بسكويت" و ادتة بسكويتة ، اكلها اخى بمنتها السعادة وبعد ان خلصها تانى كرر عايز تبيئ عايز تبيئ و امى ترد علية عايز بسكويت و تدية بسكويت حتى نفذ البسكويت من عندنا
طلبت امى من اختى ان تاخذة فى الخارج لينام ، اخذتة اختى خارج المنزل و رجتة جيدا حتى نام اخى من كتر الرجرجة و بعدها اعادتة للداخل
بعدها جارنا قرر الذهاب " لا اعلم لماذا ، ربما لان البسكويت قد نفذ او انة لم يجد ما بيحث عنة " و لكنة قرر الذهاب
بعدها تنفسنا الصعداء و خرجنا من الغرفة و جلس ابى و تحدثنا قليلا ثم هم بالرحيل بعدها

فى مرة من المرات كنا ماشين لزيارة احد المدرسات زميلات والدتى فى المدرسة ، الناس الكنا ماشين ليهم ديل اصلا كنا بنمشى نلاقى ابوى عندهم مرات ـ المهم و احنا ماشين امى فهمتنا انو ما مفروض نجيب سيرة الموضوع دة و نعمل نفسنا اول مرة نمشى لى الناس ديل فى بيتهم
اول ما ركبنا الباص انا مشيت قعدتا جنب امى ، وبشرى اخوى لما كان صغير كان شيطان شديد مشى قعد قدااااام جنب السواق و المدرسات القاعدين قدام ، وقعد يتونس معاهم و يوصف ليهم فى الطريق " ايوة لف بى جاى " "حتلاقى خور بى هنا" وصف زول عارف المكان كويس ما اول مرة يجية
بعد ما وصلنا قام بشرى اتذكر الكلام بتاع امى و حبى يصلح الموضوع
اولاد الاستاذة بيعرفونا انا و بشرى و معانا فى المدرسة و بتلاقى طوالى
لما وصلنا جة يسلمو علينا قام بشرى اخوى نهرم ليك " بتسلمو علية لية ، بتعرفونى من وين ؟؟

What is the time ? .....Yes i ate lunch

Since i am living in korea, I have to learn Korean lanuage to communicate , but It's really difficult, the grammer structure is defferent , so many world sounds semilar to us (forigners) , so we have a lot of funny situations, I don't remeber them all, now i am living there for one year, and my memory is really so bad.

Today a funny thing happen, this days we have to write our reports to our professor in korean and we have to speak in korean.

the report is that we state what we have done during the week and what we are going to do in the next week, anyway, today one of my friends, at the end of his report he wanted to say thank you dear professor, but he endup saying "thank you I love you professor" and the meeting leader says thats sounds homosexually , i laughed so much when i heared that.

another funny one , is that the number eighteen (18) is simillar in pronunciation to fucker. so one day i write somthig in my report about seminar or somthing which i am going to present it on the 18th of the month, so the meeting leader asks me , when will you present , on the 18th, ( he asks in korean) and i wanted to reply in korean too -u know , to show up my amazing skill hehe- so i replyed to him "yes, fucker", really it was hilarious.

*PS: Maybe its not funny when u read it , but it is really funny if u are in the situation.

Trying to Study

I've been trying to get back to my studying for a while now, but till this moment I cant, every time I try to open a book or read a paper I end up checking my facebook account or surfing the web...for nothing :). I think the reason is I am BORED, TIRED , and FAR AWAY FROM MY HOME.
I didn't take a rest or holiday since I arrived here, the longest holiday was for 4 days , and I was so happy with it.
I have only one semester left, and I should start to write my thesis and prepare for my graduation , but till now I didn't , i even don't have a topic in my mind.
A moment ago , I decided that I should stop being a baby and finish my studying , but I proved to myself that i am wrong :), I just read the title of the paper I wanna read "Mining Emerging Patterns and Classification In Data Streams" and then I remember I didn't check my email which led me to my facebook and then to my blog, and I though I should post something, and while I was writing I notice some tab in the menu bar "I should've said that I am a virgin in this blog think" says Monetise, by clicking it I found that I MAY earn a little bit money from ads on my blog. so I singed up for it, and hopefully one day I will really get something.
After I finish this "Monestise "thing I get back to my post and I started to write the following .................................

My name is KHALID and I am from Sudan , but I lived most of my life in Egypt I lived there since i was 7 years old. My father is a politician, and his political views are against the ones who are in charge now ,,this is why I lived in Egypt
Anyway, I stayed there (Egypt) till I graduated University, and I only visit Sudan for a few times.
I graduated from October 6 University , my major is Computer Science, after I graduated I came to South Korea to continue my postgraduate studies , I am in the 3rd semester of my Master's Degree now , and hopefully I will finish by the end of this year December , and then I will start my PhD.

I am living in Korea for almost One year and half, I am living In our School dormitory -Which is similar to a f**** Prison - because the door will close at 12 O'clock, and I hate it so much.

My Laboratory now Is Database and Bio Informatics lab, I stay there every day from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm, so when i say I don't have time to sleep , i was not overreacting .

My Week End

I didnt post anything for the last few days, it was the weekend here and I always try to be away as far as possible from the computer.
I didn't do much in the weekend rather than sleeping.

On Saturdays , usually i have a seminar at 9:30 AM in the Morning :( and then a meeting at 11:00 am, but this week -for the first time- I skipped the meeting -oh boy I found that really I am good student hehe-, I skipped because the day before I went out with my team leader and my team members and I came back to dorm, to sleep at 5:30 am and it was impossible to get up the next day.
oh, while i am writing this post i realized that I didn't introduce my self or what i am doing or studying, so i will do this in the next one.
Sunday, I continued my laziness and also I slept all the day, I really don't sleep much because sadly I don't have time to sleep, another reason for my to sleep beside I am tired and I am lazy is that I am broke now, I don't have money - or maybe this is the real reason - hehe :)

So that was my week end, :)

My first post

i wanted to start writing my journal's since for ever, but i was always lazy to write, and i really sucks at writing. I am not sure if i will continue doing this or no, but I just wanna give it a try.
Today , while i am setting on my chair at my lab -SAME AS EVERY OTHER SINGLE DAY- i felt soooooo bored, and i started to think about so many things in my life, and the choices i made that make me who i am right now and how my life would be if choosed to follow another path.I have so many thoughts , ideas and feeling but i dont know how to express it, i dont know how to speak, its my dilemma.
I don't know what's the purpose of this post -TO ME- i just wanted to speak i guess.
